Soil Wise is a Department of Water and Environmental Regulation managed program funded under the National Landcare Program to increase adoption of best practice sustainable agriculture.  WICC will work with DWER and landholders in our management area to build the capacity of farmers to undertake DIY soil testing and interpret the results to improve pasture production and knowledge.  This will minimise unnecessary application of fertilisers which will benefit the health of our waterways.  We will also be establishing demonstration trials for Nitrogen, Potassium and Sulphur so land managers can better understand the role these keys elements play in pasture production.
