THE OKGG SURVEY

The survey questions cover three main areas:

What you consider to be important issues for the future for the catchment and for your own property/business;
How you prefer to find information that help you make decisions about your property/business; and
What role you think OKGG could play and how the group could be most effective in supporting your property/business and sustainable development in the catchment.

1. Control of feral species across the region – specifically foxes and the reduction of impact of kangaroos on crops and pastures. 2. Control of weeds across the catchment. 3. How to make soils more drought resistant. 4. How to make soils more drought resistant. 5. Soil testing and Soil Health: Help with testing by a lab independent of fertiliser companies. Deeper soil tests. 6. Biochar for soil and animals. Focus on how growers can affordably source, apply and monitor the impact across large areas. 7. Understanding how fertiliser (in particular NPK) works in the soil. 8. How to improve the spread and survival and year-round activity of Dung Beetles. 9. Carbon, carbon credits and what is on the horizon for farmers with regards to net zero products, markets. 10. Rehabilitation of land and waters across our catchment – what is the current 11. Recycling of on-farm plastics. 12. Water and how to capture and slow it down as it moves through your property. 13. What can we do to innovate? (eg – virtual fencing and auto gates).
