Nursery survey
WICC is going to build a 300,000 stem NIASA accredited community native tree nursery in the heart of Denmark. We have lost our local nursery and several seed collectors are in various stages of retirement. The nursery will grow local provenance seedlings collected by the Binalup and SAC Rangers. It will have an indoor and outdoor classroom which will be used by Denmark Senior High School, TAFE and WA College of Agriculture, all of which are across the street from the nursery. The purpose is to build the capacity and passion of the next generation of seed collectors and tree growers. We will have the ability to grow around 220,000 seedlings for revegetation programs on the south coast (e.g YOU). This will allow WICC to plant 80,000 trees per annum for our programs.
We want to gauge the interest and needs of our neighbouring catchment groups to see if the nursery could be of benefit to them and how. Please take 5 minutes to complete the survey below. Thanks. Shaun.
