Where is your weed?
WICC is looking for landholders in the Wilson Inlet Catchment who want to dob in...... weeds! Weeds affect our natural biodiversity by competing with our native flora for vital nutrients, sun and water. This reduces habitat for our native fauna.
WICC has funding under the National Landcare Program (administered by South Coast Natural Resource Management) to tackle Weeds of National Significance (WoNS) and other priority weeds in our coastal waterways (what is a priority weed you ask? You tell us!).
To ensure we achieve the best results with our funding we are mapping weeds throughout the catchment.... but you can't see everything... so If you have, or know of, weeds in our catchment that you would like to 'dob in' we would love to hear about it.
By mapping and prioritising our weeds we will be able to achieve the biggest bang for our limited bucks.
NOTE: We are especially interested in Sydney Golden Wattle (Acacia longifolia), Arum Lilly (Zantedeschia), blackberry (Rubus spp.)
