For those that are taking part in our 'Raising Awareness of Microbes in our Soils Program' - it is time to take your Spring samples. If you do not have a sampling kit, these can be picked up from the Denmark Green Skills Office. See map at bottom of page.
WICC will be holding a Soil Biology Field day at Stephen and Kerry Frost's Stonemeal Farm on 17 November 2017. Stephen and Kerry were the recipients of this years WA Landcare Awards. With a focus on excellent soil biology, the Frost's are famous for their enviable stocking rates achieved on Narrikup's sandy soils.
If you send in your samples by 15 October, Microbe Labs has guaranteed that you will have your test results before this field day. That means you will be able to ask Dr Ash Martin (Ash) any questions regarding your samples at that time. Ash will be using the results of the last two years of testing in our catchment to deliver a presentation on 'Lessons Learned' - Who has good soil biology and why?
