WICC received $30,000 to treat Sydney Golden Wattle (SGW) throughout the upper and lower catchment of Wilson Inlet for 2018. This is the 4th year in a row of this program. These works included:
follow up treatment (22 Ha) of SGW treated in 2016 under a SNRMO grant in lower catchment
Treatment of SGW (61 Ha) on road verges and new infestations in lower catchment, and
Treatment of 3 agroforestry plantations in upper catchment to protect adjacent remnant vegetation
The treatment of agroforestry plantations include sizeable in kind contributions from Australian Blue Gum Plantations and PF Olsen.
This is a State Natural Resource Management Office (SNRMO) funded program. The works were carried out by Green Skills Eco Jobs in mid 2018. This program demonstrates WICC, Green Skills and the SNRMO ongoing commitment to tackle SGW throughout the Wilson Inlet catchment.
